FIFA WORLD CUP - SOUTH AFRICA 2010
John Awe was an audio description engineer for blind spectators at the 2010 edition of the FIFA World Cup. He was contracted for the gig by an alliance of the prestigious Academy of Sound Engineering and Luscher Hirshmulle, Germany.
His work on the project made it possible to provide audio description services to to visually impaired spectators at a sports event in South Africa for the first time ever.
John was there to cover the games at Soccer city stadium including the World Cup opening ceremony, opening and the final matches.
